President’s letter - August 2021
Well we were feeling a bit free last month and getting out more but COVID has come
back with a vengeance so back to being more careful we go.
We had a nice in person and zoom meeting for our business meeting last month. Stacy,
Jackie, Pat and Donna joined me for lacing in the morning. It was fantastic lacing live!
Later Debbie came by and Norell and Kathy Ogle joined us via zoom.
We discussed Louise’s workshop scheduled in September and agreed we would host the
workshop. We have ten lacers planning to attend.
This was also the meeting where (per the by laws) we were to form a nomination
committee in preparation for voting in officers at the October meeting. We mus
t have an Executive Board consisting of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, and
Secretary. Linda had notified me that she did not wish to continue as treasurer. Sh
e has been our fabulous treasurer since 2007 and I know we all truly appreciate her
service. Stacy volunteered to be the treasurer again. Debbie who has been our dedic
ated secretary, for about that long I imagine, has graciously agreed to continue. Kathy
Ogle kindly volunteered to be Vice President but she already manages membership. I’m
sure she would appreciate it if someone else would step up to the position of Vice
President but I’m sure we are all grateful that she is willing. I could remain as president.
If anyone would like to volunteer for any of the positions please just let me know before
October so you can be added to the ballot. Your help is always welcomed.
We have decided not to demo at the State Fair but we did have entrants into the Bobbin
Lace category for the Arts and Crafts competition. It was fun to participate in
something!
Hope you all stay well and safe,
Marilyn
