Letter
from the President
Dear
DLS Members,
Sherry,
Heather and Amy send their many thanks to all DLS members who helped
with the IOLI convention. They were very grateful for our support in
creating a fabulous convention experience. The flowers looked
fantastic the way they arranged them on the tables and guests were
excited to be able to take home a vase of three.
Oh
my, were the water bottle holders ever a hit! People who missed them
at registration were hunting us down to get one! Your efforts were
very much appreciated.
Our
Milanese workshop with Louise is fast approaching and we still have a
spot or two left. The fee is $120. You can reserve your spot by emailing Marilyn (mjwaisanen@icloud.com)
then sending a check made out to Dallas Lace Society to Marilyn
Waisanen at 1918 Olive St. Apt 801, Dallas, 75201. Marilyn will have
a packet of project material for you.
Thank
you to those who were able to represent us at the Plano Quilt Show
August 11th.
Our next demonstration will be at the State Fair on October 12. I
think Dorothy has the afternoon shift filled but contact her about
volunteering if you have an interest. It is Children’s Day at the
fair, so it should be busy.
Just
talked with Sandy Owenby and she is adjusting to Louisiana life but
missing all of us lacers. She is going to start teaching knit and
crochet classes where she lives – you had to know she would get
busy fast. She is still making bobbin lace and trying to find bobbin
lacers.

Workshops
The
Fall Workshop will be taught by Louise
Colgan!
This
exclulsive Milanese class is scheduled for Sept. 22 - 24th
Instruction
will begin at 9:30 and end at 4:30
There
will be a lunch break around 12:30 so rbing a pot-luck dish to serve.
The
cost for the class will be $120 with limited space (12). It is still
possible there may be an opening so contact Marilyn

if you would like to check on that.
