The
Dallas Lace Society
Fourth Quarter Fall Newsletter
October 2025
Congratulations Marilyn and Debbie on your Texas State Fair Winning entries!!!!!
Classes
Thanks to Louise Colgan for
coming to Texas again this year for our annual Milanese Class. Here are a few examples of the beautiful work
being done. We’ll be doing this again next
Fall-Oct 24 - 26, 2026.
It’s
still possible that we may be able to have Judy Aycock teach a Buck’s
Point Class early in 2026.
Next summer, we
hope to be having our annual Honiton Class with Cathy Morris in Dallas.
If you are interested in either or both,
please contact Kathy Ogle at Kathy.ogle@swbell.net.
Demonstrations
The Shawnee Trail Days in Frisco at the end of
Sept. were a lot of fun. Thanks to the
members who came out to demonstrate the art of bobbin lace. We hope to do this
again next year as well.
The Mansfield
Founder’s Day Celebration earlier this month
gave us another opportunity to show off the skills we use to make bobbin
lace. It’s always a treat to meet other
lacers and to plant those seeds for the future.
Nice work Yall!
Dorothy Morgan is
always looking for events like these. It
is our goal to spread the knowledge of what we do to others. If you think an event might work for this,
just let Dorothy (centumlittlefingers@yahoo.com) know about it.

Library News
If you would like to access our library, you can find it
online at LIBIB.COM. The library also has a nice bobbin-winder that you can
borrow when needed. Please contact Arthiss at
arthiss.kliever@gmail.com to check out a book or with questions about any books,
publications or use of the winder. These
items can be mailed to members who are not in the immediate area.
Volunteer Hours
As you
all know, we document our volunteer hours. Our goal is to teach the skill of bobbin
lace-making to anyone who has an interest in it. Please take time each quarter to estimate and
report the number of hours you have spent toward our goal. This year we anticipate a lot of time spent
just on the convention alone. See the
By-Laws for qualifying hours and report yours to Debbie Stone at
dlstone@swbell.net as soon as possible.
